I found some of very interesting old photo of Labuan when I search in the internet. It was taken around the 50' and the 60'. During that time it still under the British colonial.
The just completed concrite shoplot during the 50'. It the present Labuan Supermarket.
Lido Theater. Pity that the developer demolished it last year to give way for new hotel i.e. Pulau Labuan Hotel 4. Should turn into Heritage building.

Labuan Club House. Present Mawila Restaurant. During the 50' and the 60', most of the British and expat come to this club house.

Shophouse at Labuan Town. On the left building is the present Hong Leong bank. Still present today. Last time it was a coffee shop.

That is so nice that you have a picture of The Old Panggung Lido. My late grandfather was the manager of the cinema. Sadly he passed away when I was baby toddler and had very little recollection of him. All I know was that my grandfather adored me a lot and used to being me to the cinema a lot.
Not sure who has posted these photos but they were definitely taken by my late father Brian Wright between 1956 &1959. They are from a group of pics that I posted to the Labuan Onlinie Community (lOC ) site about 10 years agos administered by Alvin Han
