Journey to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah - 1st Day

This is my journey to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, with my girlfriend and her parent. And it was also my first time to drive to KK with my new Suzuki LD255. Want to test the new car. It my proud car. bigger than Vios. and stable for long distance. The reason I drive to KK is not because want to test my new car, but to bring my girlfriend dad for further treatment at Damai Medical Centre. Her dad had a diabetes and effected his left foot.

I start wake-up about 5 a.m. and by 6.30 a.m. already at Labuan Ferry. The schedule for the departure suppose at 7.30 a.m. but only about 8.30 a.m. it start the journey. malaysia time la... Reach Menumbok about 10.00 a.m. and drive straight to KK. Reach KK about 1 p.m. By the time reach KK, everyone was hungry and go for lunch. Lunch at Penampang. After lunch, go looked for Damai Medical Centre and hotel to stay.

At the evening, we have dinner at Home Restaurant at 1Borneo. Kind of expensive but the dish is alot. Don't know worth with value of money or not. After the dinner, go lepak around 1Borneo. But the time ws too short as we arrived 1Borneo almost 8.30p.m. and by the time first dinner is about 9.00p.m. Most of the shop close at 10 p.m. So by 10.00 p.m. need to go back to hotel to take some rest as tomorrow will be another tiring day again. P.S. I forgot to mention that the parking at 1Borneo cost me RM5. And because I just part for 1 1/2 hours, it the most expensive parking I ever park. But worth because it just near the entrance. But I should parking for the whole day and night. Then it will be really worth.

As the time now is 12.19 a.m. and better get some sleep. Continue to blog tonight again for 2nd day.

In 1Borneo, KK

I was in 1 Borneo, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is my 2nd time to 1Borneo. My 1st time was last year when the complex was still in progress to complete. Time fly really fast. within 1 year, it completed all the main building, comprising of 4 main hotel, apartment, condominium, and shopping mall. It said that 1Borneo is the largest shopping complex in East Malaysia. 

Arrive at Menumbok, Sabah

Arrive at Menumbok, ferry terminal. It a small town. U can see at the picture I took. can still see the old wooden shophouse. But it the busy town. Because it the ferry point at main land. If the ferry point is shift to other location, guest it will turn into fisherman town. 

K.K. Here I Come

My Car... LD255..

Wake up early about 5 am, and to ferry terminal for boarding. Suppose the ferry sail at 7 a.m. but delay until 8.20am. Malaysia time la. This my 2nd time to K.K. But first time drive to K.K. driving my new car. Nw stil in ferry and on the way to Memumbok. Should reach Memumbok about 10 am.

Labuan....

I found some of very interesting old photo of Labuan when I search in the internet. It was taken around the 50' and the 60'. During that time it still under the British colonial. 

The just completed concrite shoplot during the 50'. It the present Labuan Supermarket.

Lido Theater. Pity that the developer demolished it last year to give way for new hotel i.e. Pulau Labuan Hotel 4. Should turn into Heritage building. 

Labuan Club House. Present Mawila Restaurant. During the 50' and the 60', most of the British and expat come to this club house. 

Shophouse at Labuan Town. On the left building is the present Hong Leong bank. Still present today. Last time it was a coffee shop. 

Nite at Beaufort, Sabah

I overnite at Beaufort. Stopover only coz I cannot make it to Menumbok ferry in time. Well Beaufort is just a small town, and it a by-pass to Kota Kinabalu. it just like Batu Niah, Sarawak. But the town is blend with old and new shophouse. Guest it look like before the WWW II. The shop house is looked very old, but still functioning, with shop shop operating. Maybe take over from grand father time to father then to son. Pity din,t take camera with me. But next time I take some photo.
